Our Michigan Roots
Krista founded Helper Helper after graduating from the University of Michigan, where she was a four-year captain of the women's basketball team. She and Chelsea, who work with our schools every day, both grew up in Michigan.
Today University of Michigan Athletics uses Helper Helper, along with public and private high schools across the state, from DeWitt and Ovid-Elsie to the Catholic schools of Grand Rapids and Jackson.

West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids sums up its service program in five words: "Enter to learn, leave to serve." Service is part of religion class, and the requirement grows each year, from 10 hours as a freshman to 20 as a sophomore and 30 in each of the last two years. Every year's hours are split across three categories: Family/School, Parish, and Works of Mercy.
Students who go beyond the minimum can earn a transcript endorsement or the Christian Service Award, and the award threshold climbs to 75 hours by senior year. As the school's service page puts it: "We use HelperHelper as our service management platform. It allows us to easily collect and verify service hours students have completed."
Layered programs like this are where Helper Helper does its best work. A goal can count a single category within a single school year, so each student's Family/School, Parish, and Works of Mercy minimums are tracked on their own, while tiered goals show who is on pace for the endorsement or the award.
