Single Sign-On (SSO)
Single Sign-On allows students and staff to log in with their existing school credentials and eliminates the need for students and staff to remember yet another username and password. It also strengthens your security posture by centralizing authentication through your identity provider, ensuring that you control any multi-factor authentication or password complexity rules.

If you do not wish to use a single sign-on provider, your students and staff can sign in with secure Helper Helper-specific passwords. Role-based access controls (RBAC) for administrators, students, and third-party coordinators ensure that users have access to only the data you allow.

Student Rostering
Automatically sync your student roster so you never have to manually create accounts. Roster data includes first name, last name, email, student ID, class year, and optional groupings like homerooms or advisory periods. New students are provisioned automatically and graduated students are archived, keeping your account list current without any manual work.

LTI Integration
Helper Helper supports Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) so students and teachers can access volunteer tracking directly from their learning management system. LTI 1.3 Advantage enables roster syncing, grade passback, and deep linking with automatic SSO. Students launch Helper Helper from within their LMS and are signed in automatically.
Our Canvas integration uses the full LTI 1.3 Advantage feature set today. Helper Helper is also compatible with Schoology, Blackbaud, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, and any other LMS that supports the LTI 1.3 standard.
Calendar Integration
Enter an opportunity once in Helper Helper and it can appear on the calendars your school already uses. Administrators build one or more calendar feeds under Calendar Feeds and Syncing in the admin panel, then sync each feed to Google Calendar or subscribe to it from any other calendar.
- Sync to Google Calendar. Connect a Google account and pick one of your calendars. Helper Helper adds new time slots, updates changed ones, and removes cancelled ones every hour, or right away with Sync Now. It only touches the events it created, so everything else on that calendar is left alone.
- Subscribe from any calendar. Every feed has its own iCalendar (.ics) link that works with Apple Calendar, Outlook, and nearly any other calendar system.
- Choose what each feed shows. A feed can list only the opportunities open to the public, every school-wide opportunity, or everything, including opportunities for specific teams. You set how many days ahead it reaches and whether events stay visible after their registration deadline.
- Decide what each event includes. Turn the description, location, and coordinator contact details on or off for each feed.
- Link straight to sign-up. Events can carry a sign-up link with your own wording: an app link, a public link, or a single sign-on link that takes students through your school login to the opportunity.
Students can add any commitment to their own Google, Apple, or Outlook calendar from the app, and sign-up confirmation emails arrive with a calendar invite attached.
